Once you’ve become a card shark, you may want to consider entering a Poker tournament. A Poker tournaments, as the name suggests, are tournaments in which players compete for a prize by playing Poker. It can consist of as little as 2 people playing on a single table (called “Heads up” tournament), to tens of thousands of people playing on thousands of tables.

The winner of a Poker tournament is the person who has won every poker chip in the game. The other players are given awards based on their order of elimination. In a tournament, the players chips cannot be cashed out for money, they only determine the player’s placing.

Poker Etiquette

You may be new to Poker, but no one else has to know that. Once you’ve mastered the basics, you can sit at the table with all the confidence of the card sharks. However, as with most casino games, there are some basic, unspoken rules called poker etiquette, that you should abide by. Most of these rules are concerned with the fairness of the game, player safety, and just maintaining a friendly atmosphere.

More than ten centuries ago, various card games involving the basic principals of a ranked card, domino combinations, or the use of “bluffing”, evolved into one of the most popular card games played today. This game, played in various forms, has come to be called “Poker”.

As with many games, the exact origins of three card poker are still uncertain. However, many agree that it appears to have originated from a 16th century Persian card game, As Nas. As Nas was played with 25 cards, and 5 different suits. It was played in a similar fashion to modern 5-card stud Poker, with similar hands rankings, such as three-of-a-kind.
