This is the 2nd tip in our eBook “How to Play Craps – 11 Rolls to Win.

Step 1. Roll dice, Step 2 WIN MONEY!!

Well, we wish it were that easy, however the rules of craps are a little more involved than rolling and winning.

Craps is one of the most exciting casino games ever played. It is played by multiple players shouting with excitement while betting against the casino. It’s important to note that payouts for various bets may be slightly different, depending on which casino you visit.

The basic rules of craps begin with players taking turns rolling two dice. The person rolling the dice is called the shooter. The shooter is required to bet at least the table minimum on either the pass line or the don’t pass line. These lines may also be known as the win or right bets, or the don’t win or wrong bets (if you would like to learn more about the lines, download the FREE eBook at the end of the post).

The game is played in rounds, and each round has two phases.

  • Come Out
  • Point

The come out phase occurs when the shooter makes one or more “come out” rolls to start a round. A come out roll ends if the shooter rolls a 2, 3, or 12. This is also know as craps since the shooter is said to “crap out”. Players that place their bets on the pass line lose their money on a craps roll. However, they win if the come out roll is a 7 or 11 (also known as a natural). The come out phase continues until the shooter rolls a 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10. This number becomes the point which then becomes the “point” phase.

The dealer will place a button on the point number, which then lets everyone know it has turned into the second phase of the round known as the point phase. As the point phase continues, if the shooter rolls a point number then it’s a win for the pass line bets. If the shooter rolls a seven (seven-out) in the point phase, then it’s a loss for the pass line bets and the round is over.

Now that you know the rules of craps, are you ready to roll?
